I have/had a character whose personality was somewhat in conflict with the general mood of the setting, and I started getting afraid that other would see me as a bad roleplayer for “resisting the setting”. Thus, I made my character’s personality little by little adapt… and now I don’t feel like RPing them anymore.
((OOC: Don’t get me wrong; I love rping as Belle, but sometimes I feel like I bring out certain traits she has that are not particularly strong in the film more than I ought to. For instance, that stubborn and headstrong trait. It’s there for like TWO SCENES in the movie then she’s back to being gentle, timid and sweet. I had a brief talk with Ryan about this last night so I’m kinda just pointing it out now, ya know.))
